Miss Ellis

Miss Ellis has finished her first posting with us and she was awesome.  We loved the drama games she taught us.  We also really enjoyed learning to use the poi.
On her last day she had a treat hidden for us!  We can't wait for her to come back after her holidays!

Volunteers Day

We had a very special day for Tony on Friday.  We wanted to thank him for everything he does to help us in Ruma Tui.  Paskell presented Tony with a special medal with Carisbrook School's new logo on it in our whole school assembly. 

This weeks award winners

Congratulations to Alvyne and Zahara for their awesome efforts in writing and maths. You are both working so hard to do your best.

Mrs Kyle also gave Zakea an award for her efforts at reading recovery.  Well done Zakea.  You are making such good progress in your reading and writing.

New Jackets

A great big thanks to  Kidscan  for our new jackets.

Ros and Tess

Ros and Tess visited Carisbrook School to teach us how to be safe around dogs we don't know.

We learnt to ask the dog's owner if it was alright to pat the dog.
We practice putting our fist out for the dog to sniff so that the dog could see we were friendly.
We found the best place to pat the dog was on its chest or on the side of the head.

Ros also explained that we should not run away from a dog or look at it directly in the eyes.  We practiced covering our face so we could protect ourselves.

Top Table

Kakariki and Kikorangi are turning out to be our top table champs this term!

Assembly Awards

Congratulations to  Caesy and Mason who received certificates in the whole school assembly last week.
Casey's certificate is for his excellent efforts in writing and Masons is for working extra hard in maths.
